Even though the sun is still trying to kill us with heat, fall is right around the corner. Check out this Fall Trend Report so you can be prepared for the cool season on its way!
1. 50's and 60's Flare
This season there seems to be a flashback to the 50's and 60's fashion. Sweet heart necklines and the defined waist are back and ready to be worn!
Fendi Louis Vuitton
Mulberry MIU MIU
Nina Ricci Prada
Yohji Yamamoto
My interpretation of the trend:
I can not even explain how many furs and feathers graced the runway this season. Neadless to say these fabulous garments are going to be one of the top trends this season.
Acne Altuzarra
Balenciaga Burberry Prorsum
Chanel Derek Lam
Dries Van Noten DSquared
Giorgio Armani Gucci
Lanvin Proenza Schouler
Roland Mouret Thakoon
Valentino Versace
Outfit: BCBG dress, Faux fur coat from Target, Timberline fringe boots.
3. Matchy Matchy
I have never been crazy over wearing matching colored pieces together. Now that I have seen these pieces the trend is really starting to grow on me! This season be sure to wear matching colors together. The right clothes will make quite a statement.
Bottega Veneta Francesco Scognamiglio
Frank Tell Isaac Mizrahi
Lacoste Marc Jacobs
Oscar De La Renta Zac Posen
Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to photograph my interpretation of this trend, but I think you get the picture. : )
4. The Corporate Man
I LOVE THIS TREND. I have always loved taking feminine items and giving them a masculine twist. This season designers have shown the business side of the woman in these wonderful suits:
Alexander Wang Aquascutum
D&G Calvin Klein
Hermès Karl Lagerfeld
Marc Jacobs Ralph Lauren
My interpretation of the trend:
Outfit: Bitten jacket, Forever 21 skirt, Mark Jacobs ruffle top, my Fathers belt, American Eagle flats.
5. The Touch of Versailles
When I first saw this trend it reminded me so much of when I visited Versailles this summer. The detail of the gold in each of these garments is so exquisite and when I look at them they give off a real sense of royalty. Love Love Love.
Alexander McQueen Balmain
Blumarine Dries Van Noten
Emilio Pucci Gianfranco Ferré
Jason Wu Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marchesa Peter Som
My interpretation of the trend:
Outfit: Dries Van Noten Sweater, Vintage Belt, Vintage necklace made into a bracelet, Velvet BCBG skirt, Gold sandles from payless and regular brand socks.
6. Maxis not Minis!
I noticed a lot of Maxi skirts this season. It is such a nice change from those mini skirts that seem to be everywhere. I hope this trend is embraced by everyone. We need a change.
Dries Van Noten Fendi
Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs
Michael Kors Peter Som
Philosophy Rachel Roy
Ralph Lauren Yohji Yamamoto
My interpretation of the trend:
Outfit: Ballet shoes, Velvet Marc Jacobs dress, 7 different socks, Vintage Givenchy Earings
7. Fabulous layers
Okay, I am in love with this trend. All it is is tons of layers! what better way is there to get warm this fall than grabbing your two favorite coats and wearing both? I think it is cool to look like I took everything out of my closet and put it on. I am definitely going to be wearing this trend.
Anna Sui Christian Dior
D&G Haider Ackermann
Issey Miyake Jean Paul Gaultier
Jeremy Laing Jill Stuart
Junya Watanabe Kenzo
Missoni Roberto Cavalli
